BitScope Meter | Release Notes (Older Version)

Version 1.2

This page contains release notes for the old production versions of BitScope Meter.

BitScope Meter

This application provides:

  • Real-Time Waveform Display
  • Auto-Lock Adjustable Trigger
  • Selectable channels (1 to 8)
  • AC, DC, RMS & Min/Max Volt

Older versions may be downloaded from this page and may be useful if you have an older model BitScope.

It is compatible with BitScope models released since BS300 in 2003 but it may not be compatible with some newer models.

For all BitScopes we recommend the current version instead but if you find the current version does not support a feature of your older BitScope or if you're happy with this older production software feel free to continue to use it. Software on this page is no longer in active development. If you have problems please use the current version.

Meter 1.2 | Multi-Channel Release | BA28A

2011-01-31

This release adds support for logic channel capture and the new BitScope Chart application.

BitScope Meter 1.2 (BA28A)

It reworks the main menu, adds support for capture on all analog inputs (i.e. BNC & POD inputs at the same time) and introduces capture on logic channels for multi-channel frequency meter applications.

New menus include Input for selection of voltage ranges and probe scaling, Channels to select which channels are active and available for measurement, Display to control how the waveform data is to be displayed and Capture which controls how the data is processed.

Other behind the scenes improvements have also been made including support for analog prescalers (on BitScope models that include them) and more control over how quickly voltages and frequencies are captured.

This version is also integrated into BitScope Chart (i.e. if you use Chart, Meter is included as one of Chart's display modes). However you can still use this stand-alone version of Meter and this is preferred if you plan to view waveforms at high refresh rates and/or without data logging.

Meter 1.0 | Initial Production Release

2010-02-05

This is the first production release of BitScope Meter which incorporates the many of the suggestions made by BitScope DSO users and our beta testers during its development.

Cross-Platform Release

Originally conceived as a replacement for an AC/DC voltmeter, Meter has since evolved into a powerful waveform analysis system.

The primary design goal for Meter was ease of use in practical measurement situations. Most operations are automatic, simply connect the signal and read the results.

Meter is cross-platform and available for Windows 7, Vista, XP, and most popular Linux distributions including Debian, Ubuntu, Fedora, RedHat, SuSe and Mandrake.

It is theme aware so its appearance depends on your operating system but its operation is the same on all systems. An update supporting Mac OSX is coming (check development page for news).
