MIXED SIGNAL SCOPE & ANALYZERBS10 is a tiny high performance USB powered 10 channel Mixed Signal Oscilloscope, Protocol & Spectrum Analyzer. Key features:
BS10 Pocket Analyzer has 10 channels; 2 high bandwidth multi-range analog channels and 8 time synchronized protocol and logic capture channels in one tiny pocket sized instrument. ![]() It also includes an arbitrary waveform generator, multi-phase clock generator, logic pattern generator and RF/Baseband spectrum analyzer. BS10 is compatible with Windows, Linux and Mac OS X so whatever your preference, it is the ideal test and measurement companion. POCKET SIZED "GO ANYWHERE" DESIGNBS10 is housed in a small extruded aluminum case which is virtually indestructable and noise immune. ![]() It includes a standard set of 10 mixed signal probes, USB cable and software. An optional travel case the size of a GPS pack is available or just slip it in with your other Mac or PC netbook accessories. Pocket Analyzer inherits BitScope's flexible SmartPOD interface common to all models. In addition to the analog and logic inputs it has external trigger inputs, calibration, waveform, clock & logic generator outputs, power, ground and I/O control signals for SmartPOD devices. Capture and diagnostic LEDs at front and back let you know what's going on at a glance. BS10 requires very little power so it won't put a big load on a battery powered Mac or PC notebook making it ideal for use in the field. FEATURE PACKED TEST AND MEASUREMENTBS10 may be small but it packs in a huge range of features... Unlike any comparable product, BitScope Pocket Analyzer is far more than just a logic protocol analyzer; it's a fully featured portable mixed signal test and measurement solution. POWERFUL MIXED SIGNAL PROTOCOL ANALYSISBS10 merges mixed signal capture and generation with sophisticated protocol analysis. ![]() At its heart is the BitScope DSP Capture Engine. This is responsible for the primary waveform and protocol capture functions and synchronizes with the mixed signal trigger and waveform and clock generators. It also manages the logic and analog buffers, input channel ranges and offsets. Working in concert with the BitScope software applications on the host computer, Pocket Analyzer's signal acquisition, processing and sythesis components operate together to implement a wide range of test and measurement instruments many of which can operate at the same time. Here are some of the test instruments made possible by Pocket Analyzer via BitScope Apps... DUAL CHANNEL DIGITAL OSCILLOSCOPEOne of the simplest and probably most useful test instruments. This example shows an 8 kHz sine and triangle waveform, sythesized by Pocket Analyzer's waveform generator and sampled at 20 MHz via its two analog inputs using BitScope DSO. ![]() Just like a regular dual channel oscilloscope, Pocket Analyzer and BitScope DSO provide familiar trigger, timebase and voltage scaling and offset controls with display refresh rates up to 100Hz. TEN CHANNEL MIXED SIGNAL OSCILLOSCOPEOf course Pocket Analyzer is a BitScope so it also has 8 logic channels in addition to the analog channels. Below an 1 kHz sinusoid generated by a microcontroller in 32 steps is shown with its analog output via an 8 bit D/A. The logic channels show the D/A input (digital signals) and the analog channels show the op-amp buffered D/A output and its inverse. ![]() This mixed signal display is another virtual instrument of BitScope DSO. However if your primary focus is protocol analysis you may prefer to use BitScope Logic... MIXED SIGNAL PROTOCOL AND LOGIC ANALYZERWhen looking at serial logic protocols such as SPI, I2C, CAN or asynchronous serial such as RS-232 or 422 etc, BitScope Logic is a good choice. ![]() This app is similar to DSO's mixed signal instrument but offers full protocol packet decoding and display. BitScope Logic and Pocket Analyzer can display decoded logic on an ongoing basis live as it's captured, frame by frame (unlike any other pocket sized analyzer we know of). DIGITAL SAMPLING OSCILLOSCOPEPocket Analyzer has a massive analog bandwidth for such a small product and this can be used to good effect via the sub-sampling modes of DSO. This example shows the sub-sampled turn-on of a 20 MHz crystal oscillator. ![]() Sub-sampling is a powerful analysis technique for periodic waveforms which is fully supported by Pocket Analyzer because its A/D is extremely fast (3ns aperture). It can capture and display signals up to and even beyond 100 MHz with effective sample rates beyond 500 MHz. ARBITRARY WAVEFORM AND CLOCK GENERATORPocket Analyzer inherits some of the BitGen Waveform Generation features of BS120U. ![]() Like BitGen it can generate arbitrary analog waveforms and clocks signals simultaneously. This example shows a 16 step sinusoid and the clock that generates it captured on the analog channels. Up to 1024 steps (samples) per period are supported with arbitrary (user programmable) data. MIXED DOMAIN SPECTRUM ANALYZERPocket Analyzer can be used as a powerful real-time mixed domain (time and frequency) spectrum analyzer. It can be used in baseband or narrow band (RF) applications. ![]() The example above shows white noise passed through a 20 kHz audio amplifier where the roll off starts at 15 kHz to -3dB at 17 kHz, -20dB at 20kHz and -50dB beyond 22kHz. MANY MORE POSSIBILITIESThe examples above are just some of the test and measurement possibilities available because despite its tiny size, Pocket Analyzer is a fully featured BitScope!
