Affordable High Performance PC Oscilloscope Logic AnalyzersBitScopes are USB or Ethernet connected PC Based Mixed Signal Oscilloscopes. This means they capture and display one, two or four analog signals and eight logic or timing signals, simultaneously. Any BitScope can be used as a:
Some models include an Arbitrary Waveform Generator (AWG) and all of them have a Smart POD expansion connector on the front for logic probes and external signal processing modules. If you design, test or repair embedded systems, work with microcontrollers, robotics, sensors and servos, or modern automotive, avionic or other control systems you'll inevitably find you need to see analog and digital or logic signals simultaneously and time synchronized. And this of course is precisely what all BitScopes are designed to do ! BitScope is the original PC based mixed signal oscilloscope. The first award winning BitScope design was published in Circuit Cellar in 1998. The original BitScope had two analog inputs multiplexed to drive a fixed 25 MSps A/D convertor and 8 logic channels operating synchronously with the analog channel. Released as a kit, the original BitScope became very popular with electronics enthusiasts the world over. This was followed by the classic BS300 model in 2003 which offered an improved ADC, Ethernet and USB options. This design is still published here so you can learn how it works in detail. UNIFIED MIXED SIGNAL ARCHITECTUREThere have been many new models since then adding more features and capabilities but all of them are based on the same Virtual Machine and Digital + Analog architecture first conceived for the original design which why they can all work with the same powerful BitScope Software. For example BS10U shown here is tiny but it works just like the larger models.
Whether it's this model or one of the larger Dual or Quad Analog Channel Models such as BS120U, BS325N or BS445N all of them capture logic channels concurrently with analog using the same PC applications making them all members of one unified mixed signal test instrument family.
BS445 | 12 Channel Network BitScope INDESTRUCTIBLE DESIGNWhile still the first choice of electronics enthusiasts, BitScopes have also become very popular with professional engineers in R&D as well as industrial manufacturing, monitoring, testing and service applications. They are used in applications ranging from primary fusion research to university labs, embedded systems design and robotics, test and measurement, service and repair work. BitScopes are housed in robust extruded aluminium cases with full EMI shielding.
BS120 | 9 Channel BitScope & Generator Whether it's the rough and tumble of a typical undergrad student lab or hard at work in a heavy engineering workshop, BitScopes are built to last and take the knocks along the way. OPEN ARCHITECTUREIn contrast to other PC scopes and analyzers, BitScopes are unique in their open design and seamless mixed signal integration. They are all based on derivatives of the published virtual machine and an application library is available to make programming BitScope for integration with third party apps easy. BitScopes are compatible with Windows, Mac OS X and Linux PCs. They connect via USB or Ethernet (network models only). SOFTWARE OPTIONSAll BitScope include BitScope DSO, our premium integrated test and measurement software application for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux. DSO includes a mixed signal and storage oscilloscope, a logic analyser, arbitrary waveform generator and spectrum analyzer in one easy to use software app. There are many other software packages available including BitScope Logic for logic and protocol analysis, BitScope Chart for data recording and BitScope Meter for waveform analysis. BS120U and BS10U also support DSP waveform generation and BitGen and DSO. DATA ACQUISITION SYSTEMSBitScopes can be used for data acquisition as well as test and measurement. For example DSO can be used as a Data Recorder and when connected to our network models is capable of manage dozens of BitScopes simultaneously, a capability which in university labs or large data acquisition and process monitoring applications can be extremely useful. Indeed this multiscope capability forms the basis of BitScope's Networked Data Acquisition System. Connected via a standard LAN BS445N or any other Network BitScope model can be used to build large high speed acquisition systems with rack mount kits available. So whether you need a low cost USB connected test instrument or a powerful networked data acquisition system, BitScopes offer very flexible solutions. |
