BitScope Micro Mixed Signal Probe Adapter (New Product)

A common question since launching BitScope Micro with element14 is how do I to connect an oscilloscope probe?

BitScope Micro Mixed Signal Oscilloscope Probe Adapter

BitScope analog channels have always been electrically compatible with scope probes because they have 1MΩ / 20pF input impedance. Any probe designed for use with an oscilloscope can therefore be used with any BitScope.

The BitScope Micro Diagnostic Port has inputs configured for twisted pair access on its two analog channels.

It's therefore quite easy to rig up a pair of BNC sockets and twisted pair flying leads to connect an oscilloscope probe to each input as shown above.

However, we've since come up with a more convenient and robust solution !

We call it Micro Port 01 (MP01, aka HammerHead), a universal mixed signal I/O adapter for BitScope Micro.

BitScope Micro Mixed Signal Oscilloscope Probe Adapter

MP01 is a dual channel BNC probe adapter with logic, waveform generator and clock ports custom designed for BitScope Micro.

It connects standard oscilloscope probes.

Any passive probe with 1:1, 10:1 or other attenuation ratios can be used. It supports active differential, current or any other type of probe which is BNC terminated and designed for a standard oscilloscope.

MP01 is not just for oscilloscope probes.

It allows the use of BNC coaxial cables for connection with other lab equipment and it connects the logic inputs and waveform and clock generator outputs via a 16-pin connector between the BNC sockets.

When used with MP01 it means BitScope Micro can be configured and used in many different ways; as a compact dual channel digital storage oscilloscope, an 8 channel logic analyzer, a mixed signal data acquisition system, a waveform and/or clock generator, a configurable automated test system or various combinations of these.

Shown here is BitScope Micro and MP01 connecting a pair of oscilloscope probes and 10 mixed signal test clips for logic, waveform and clock signals. The IDC-10 Diagnostic Port means you can set up more than one MP01 for different test setups. Simply plug and play with BitScope Micro in each one when needed, very convenient !

BitScope Micro Port 01 is available online now and soon via Farnell, element14, Newark and other distributors.
